Lake Russell, Georgia Bowfishing Camp

James & Amanda Cantrell, “Coyote Camp”

About This Camp

The first Lake Russell Bowfishing Camp took place the weekend of March 31-April 2, 2017 with host Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville. Liberty continued to host the weekend Camp in 2018, 2019 and 2021 (2020 was missed due to COVID).

In 2022, James and Amanda Cantrell took the reins as Camp Host on their property. Called “Coyote Camp,” the property is located much closer to Lake Russell than Liberty Baptist in Carnesville. Although Liberty Baptist continues to support the Camp by providing some of the devotional leaders, the move was a good one since this Camp keeps some of the campers on the water until nearly daylight as they target gar, carp and catfish with bows.

The Camp is spearheaded every spring by Liberty Baptist church member Ben Baty. 30-30 Ministries first met Ben the weekend of May 15-17, 2015 while he and his daughter Madison, 13 at the time, were attending a 30-30 Ministries’ Hog Camp in Washington County with Oconee Ridge Outfitters. After the Hog Camp, Ben began to plan how he could use his passion for bowfishing as a way to reach people for Jesus.
