Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes Pineland/Camp Pioneer

About This Camp

The Troup County Deer Camp began the weekend of Nov. 11-13, 2019 at the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes Pineland/Camp Pioneer campus in LaGrange. However, the thought of hosting a Camp was planted in the heart of Shayne Goddard when he attended a Habersham County Bear Camp the weekend of Oct. 12-18, 2018 with his daughter, Sydney. The father-daughter duo also attended a Turkey/Trout Camp in Habersham County the weekend of March 22-24, 2019. It was during this Camp when Shayne spoke with 30-30 Ministries about feeling God’s call to host his own Camp. Less than a year later, he did just that!

Camp Managers

Tony and Cindy Smith

Tony and Cindy Smith have been involved with 30-30 Ministries since Nov. 22, 2014 when they stopped by a Morgan County Deer Camp for lunch. Tony had been recently saved and felt led to share a portion of his testimony with the group of deer hunters.

After that Camp, the Smiths spent a few years faithfully serving at various 30-30 Ministries’ Camps and then felt God’s call to become 30-30 Ministries’ Camp Managers. Their first managed Camp was a Turkey & Trout Camp in Habersham County the weekend of March 24-26, 2017. They now manage several Camps throughout the year.

Tony and Cindy live in Newton County and were married Jan. 2, 1987. Tony was saved March 9, 2014 and was baptized March 16, 2014. Cindy was saved in the summer of 1984 and was baptized on June 11, 2021 at the 30-30 Ministries’ Shark Camp.
