Linn Co., Kansas
Pheasant & Quail Camp

Middle Creek Outdoors

About This Camp

The first-ever 30-30 Ministries’ Kansas Pheasant & Quail Camp was held the weekend of Sept. 20-22, 2024 in Linn County. The ministry was hosted by the husband-and-wife team of Cody & Samantha Michelle and their company, Middle Creek Outdoors.

The Camp was initiated by a phone call to Cody on June 15, 2024 by a close friend, Alex Porter. Alex was in the middle of hosting a 30-30 Ministries’ Georgia Hog Camp and made the call to Cody to see if he had any interest in hosting a Kansas camp. Cody’s immediate response was, “Yes!”

Plans were made for the first-ever Camp that September. While the Camp ran very smooth, it was agreed upon by Cody and 30-30 Ministries that September was still a little too warm for the dogs to last very long in the field, so the Camp was moved a little deeper into the fall.

At Cody’s second Camp, on Nov. 7-9, 2025, he shared that since being saved, he sees life through a different lens than he once did. He says he’s blessed to use his business and passion for hunting as an avenue to host kids during a relaxed and instructional weekend of skeet shooting and hunting, while allowing them to hear the Gospel message.

Camp Managers

Brad Gill & Chuck Hester

Both 30-30 Ministries’ Director Brad Gill and Board Member Chuck Hester are usually on the road at different Camps. However, in light of Proverbs 27:17 that reads, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another,” they enjoy spending time in Camp a few times a year when the schedule allows.

Brad founded 30-30 Ministries in September 2010, but the very first Camp occurred 11 months later in Twiggs County on the weekend of Aug. 26-28, 2011. Chuck, who barely knew Brad at the time, also attended the very first 30-30 Ministries’ Camp and now attends eight to 10 Camps each calendar year.

Brad attends Crossroads Baptist Church in Eatonton, Ga and surrendered his life to Jesus in October 2008. Chuck was saved at 22 years old in 1991 and currently attends Shiloh Baptist Church in Newborn.
