About This Camp

The first-ever 30-30 Ministries’ South Carolina Camp was a Rabbit Camp held the weekend of Jan. 31-Feb. 2, 2020 in Fairfield County. The ministry was hosted by Luke Proctor and his mom, Kim, who goes by “Big Mama.” The initial Rabbit Camp was hosted at Luke’s hunting club, which was several hours away from his home in Cherokee County, S.C.

The following year, Luke and Kim decided they would host their Rabbit Camp in Cherokee County and utilize the fellowship hall at nearby Eastside Baptist Church.

Before the first Rabbit Camp in 2020, Luke, who is passionate about rabbit hunting and beagles, reached out to 30-30 Ministries’ volunteer Greg Malcom on Facebook. Greg runs Sandy Creek Kennels and has volunteered in a number of ways with 30-30 Ministries since January 2016. Luke asked Greg how he could get involved with 30-30 Ministries, and Greg shared with him the best way was to host a Camp. He began the process of putting together the right team to make that happen.

Camp Managers

Luke Proctor & Kim Proctor

After Luke Proctor was saved in 2018, God began to show him that his passion for rabbit hunting shouldn’t just be used for his own enjoyment. Through introductions on Facebook, God put the right people in his life to begin the process of the first-ever 30-30 Ministries’ Camp in South Carolina.

Luke was joined with his mom Kim, aka “Big Mama,” for the inaugural Camp. By the third Camp, they went from just being Camp Hosts to being Camp Managers. Luke even stepped outside his comfort zone and shared his testimony, both in the briars and behind the podium. Luke lives in Cherokee County and was married to his wife Courtney on Oct. 11, 2014. They have three daughters and attend Clover Liberty Pentecostal Church.

Kim was married to her husband Ricky on Nov. 15, 1986, and they have three sons, three “wonderful” daughter-in-laws and 10 grandchildren. Kim was saved in 1975 and attends The Branch Chapel in Kings Mountain, N.C.
